Mallika Ganapathy, one of the Founder Directors of Mirra, addressed the parenting skills workshop at PayPal, organized by Amelio Day Care centre. It was attended by more than 50 employees of Pay Pal.
Various aspects of child development were discussed. Ms Mallika emphasised on the need for appropriate motor development, sensory integration and how it can stimulated in a natural environment on a day to day basis. She touched upon the need for positive behaviour and the need for the parents and adults to be relaxed, positive and non-judgemental.
It was a highly interactive workshop where several questions were asked. It included questions on usage of electronic gadgets, behaviour issues, need for co-curricular/extra-curricular activities and so on. The session concluded with an emphasis on positive parenting and the need to allow the child to enjoy every experience that he/she has.
