Exploring Visual Perception!
On Sept 27, 2024, our students and their parents explored the fascinating world of Visual Perception. Every student and parent engaged in the activities with enthusiasm. On Sept 28, teachers from Christwood School, Global Montessori, Sankara School, Surana Hi-tech International School, KC High, Sunshine Montessori, Akshar Arbol International School, Injambakkam, and an independent educator joined us to discover how to empower diverse learners.
The theme of SEE this year was Visual Perception and it kicked off with each station presenting skills related to Visual Perception. The first station demonstrated and explained the significance of the eyes in relation to movement, coordinating with hands and feet and teaming together. The role of the eyes in exploring colours patterns and shapes while making sense of the environment was exhibited through the Visual Discrimination station. In Visual Spatial skills station, activities and ideas that involved searching, matching and discovering using verbal and visual clues were demonstrated. The Visual Cognition station highlighted the higher order skills needed in processing speed, attention and thinking involved in visual skills. Through all the activities, the efficacy and synergy of all the sensory systems working seamlessly in making us function and their relevance in various facets of learning, sports and day to day life was highlighted.
Empowering Teachers, Enhancing Learning: On Saturday the 28th, the exhibition opened up for more than 30 teachers and aimed at enabling teachers to reach and engage diverse learners. By understanding Visual Perception, educators can create inclusive classrooms.
The Takeaway: There's more to Visual Perception than meets the eye!
