The team met in Mirra, on 29 and 30 April, 2022, to see where we want to go and how to go about it. Our Mentor, Mr. Suresh Subramanian, had come down for two days with a specific agenda to shake us and make us move in right direction.
Fitness and Nutrition
Team Mirra hosted a webinar on Fitness and Nutrition on 9th Apriil, 2022 , as part of our holistic approach to Gut health series. Mr. Raj Ganpath, co-founder –‘The Quad – Redefining fitness’, was our speaker, who better than the person that walks the talk and trains many people every day.
Psychodrama
TTeam Mirra gathered on Friday, March 4,2022, to welcome and explore a new tool for understanding self and others with Psychodrama therapy.

Hello Doctor - Webinar on Gut health and anxiety

Reading Webinar
Mirra hosted the Understanding Reading webinar on 15 and 26th of September 2021. This two-part webinar was for parents of children of different age groups and varied levels in reading. The objective was to empower parents to initiate and motivate reading in their children.
Understanding Aggression
31st July,2021 dawned with buzzing excitement at Mirra. We were finally going to find a way to grab the bull by the horn, ‘Understanding aggression ‘. Ms Aarti Rajaratnam , Consultant Psychologist with special interest in Child and Teenagers mental health was our speaker , who better than the person Mirra’s ideas resonate with.
Hello Doctor - Webinar on Food, Diet and Sensitivities
A webinar where we all entered with loads of questions and doubts and came out with clarity and practical tips, thanks to Dr Chezhiyan and Dr Arulprakash. We at Mirra kickstarted our webinar series ‘Hello Doctor’ on Friday, 19 March, 2021.
Emotional Well-being Webinar
Mr. Murali Sundaram, Happyness coach, took us all from ‘Let’s see’ to ‘Yes, I can do this’ in just an hour during his webinar ‘’Mindful or Mind-Full parenting’, as part of our parent wellbeing program.
Panel Discussions
Lakshmi Satish has been participating in a few panel discussions on topics such as challenges faced in the pandemic, exploring opoortunities for individuals with autism across age groups.
Oromotor workshop
A sunny Sunday morning got brighter all the more when a group of Mirra parents and the team attended a webinar on oromotor function and home based strategies on the same by Ms Rashi Shetty.
Stone Painting Workshop
Colors..They are known to affect the bodily functions, mind and emotions. Mirra and Aims Média organized a workshop in Stone painting at Mirra for its students and parents. The workshop was facilitated by one of the parents, Srividhya Hariharan.
Mural Art Workshop
In collaboration with AIMS Media, a Mural Art workshop was organised for Mirra’s students and their parents at its premises on 13th March 2019. The workshop began with an introduction by Vinoth Sir on Mural Art form followed by a demo.
Humdrum
The workshop participants were the facilitators and the parents of Mirra. It was for two hours on two days. Rzhude, the creator of the Humdrum, began with his background information and the intent for which it was designed.
Spray Painting Workshop
In collaboration with AIMS Media, spray painting workshop was organised for parents and children at Mirra. The day began with a lot of excitement as the parents and children were ready with all their materials.
Humdrumming
Children and adults experienced rhythm in a way like never before as they beat their hum drums, exploring rhythm and pitch. They were led sometimes by the facilitator, Mr Rzhude David, the inventor of the hum drum, and sometimes by the children who were drumming in complete ecstasy.
Radical thoughts and real-life queries
On Friday, 16th of February, Mrs. Laxmi Parameshwar, a psychologist and psychotherapist, joined the team of about 40 parents and facilitators at Mirra for a day that was open to questions.
Hridakasha
Hridakasha (infinite space of the heart), a six month course certificate course offered by Snehadhara Foundation, Bengaluru, in association with Mirra focussed on “Enabling peer – peer interaction to create empathetic learning spaces using the Arts”.
Workshop on Healing through Emotional Freedom Technique
Mirra organized a Workshop on Healing oneself through Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) on September 19th. The workshop was driven by Deborah Kukreja, Healer at Creative School in Bangalore. She has been trained in Inner Child Healing and Regression by Dr Newton Kondaveti and Jayashree Ashok.
Learnings from the San Diego Conference (April 8 – 11 2015)
Thanks to the management of HLC International School, Lakshmi Satish had the opportunity of attending the conference conducted by CEC (Center for Exceptional Children) along with a colleague. This opportunity came at a time when Mirra was working on ways to take inclusion to the next level and thereby facilitate better learning for all children.
Brain – Here, There and Everywhere
Mirra Charitable Trust conducted a 11-day workshop on “Promoting Holistic Development in Children” from May 12, 2014 to May 23, 2014. The focus of the workshop was on holistic understanding of development, understanding individual child profile and formulating strategies to promote learning in every child.
Alternate Realities – A peek into the child’s world
Mirra Charitable Trust conducted a workshop for teachers and parents of Tatva Pre-School, Velachery on July 19th 2014. Around 50 teachers and parents participated in the workshop.
The objective of the workshop was two-fold:
1. Getting an understanding of differential needs of children
2. Understanding how difficult and abstract it is for a child to learn concepts in Math and Language for the first time
Pay Pal – Parenting Skills workshop
Mallika Ganapathy, one of the Founder Directors of Mirra, addressed the parenting skills workshop at PayPal, organized by Amelio Day Care centre. It was attended by more than 50 employees of Pay Pal.
